A Sponsored Group Committee of the Student Activities Fund
An expanded fundraising effort at El Cerrito High School
is designed to carry on our school’s proud tradition of academic excellence.
|An opportunity to learn is the key reason students come to school every day and we want to ensure that every student has the best experience possible. IAE was established in 2010 at El Cerrito High School by parents, community members and staff members to raise funds to achieve academic excellence at ECHS. This generous community has become a critical part of El Cerrito High School’s ability to meet its future.|
Our Vision: Investing in Academic Excellence aims to support the work of students and teachers in the classroom, and thereby benefit the community as a whole. IAE endeavors to assist ECHS in becoming a California Distinguished School by 2017. IAE gives substantial support for educational curriculum and training, supplemental programs not regularly supported by the district, and durable educational equipment and materials to enable all students to excel.
With your help, the Investing in Academic Excellence campaign continues to expand each year. Our aim is to raise resources to invest in El Cerrito High School that will maintain and increase academic options for our entire student body. To this end, the campaign is focused on several vitally important projects for the 2013-14 academic year, including:
- The Academic Rigor Initiative supports programs that directly help students achieve academic excellence. See examples of these programs here.
- The Teacher and Staff Excellence Initiative ensures that teachers and staff, whose skills most directly affect students’ learning, have the resources to do their jobs well. See examples of initiatives funded in this category here.
- The Student Enrichment Initiative supports programs that foster learning a new skill, pursuing a course of study, or broadening exposure to cultural or educational opportunities. See examples of these programs here.
- NEW School Climate/Culture Initiatives – school-wide initiatives such as Restorative Justice that build a positive culture, compassionately but effectively address problematic student behaviors, and build a culture of excellence. For Fall of 2015.
Our ability to continue and expand these projects rests with the ECHS community: those parents, relatives, alum, friends, colleagues, and community leaders who are willing to make significant financial contributions.
Your generous gift will help ensure the success of our campaign to expand the academic excellence at El Cerrito High School. All gifts are tax-deductible; please make out your check to “ECHS SAF-Investing in Academic Excellence.”
