The EC Student Activity Fund is a non-profit corporation, which is regulated by California and federal law. Its mission is to support participation by students with diverse interests and backgrounds in a wide range of extra-curricular, school- related activities and to provide sponsored groups with financial support from the high school community and the community at large.
To further its mission, the EC Student Activity Fund serves as an umbrella organization that provides non-profit status (to encourage tax deductible contributions) and general liability insurance coverage to sponsored student groups, clubs and activities that maintain basic financial records and report regularly to the Board of Directors of the EC Student Activity Fund.
Donations to the SAF general fund are given to teachers and programs
this school year based on need. Teachers who request funds do not need
to be part of a Sponsored Group; funds are awarded based on need and
largest number of students served. You may also specify which
Sponsored Group or Department you wish to support. The current SAF
Sponsored Groups are:
- Archiving Project and Scholarship Fund
- Boys’ Baseball
- Boys’ Soccer
- Forensics
- Friends of Girls’ Soccer
- Friends of El Cerrito Music
- Grad Night
- Investing in Academic Excellence:
(Supports The Angaza Project, Art and Culture Programs, Science
and Math Learning Opportunities, Writer Coach Connection and Field
Trips) - James Morehouse Project
- Mountain Biking
- Supporters of Performing Arts
